- Camp lickalotta2 years agoTalk about being excited! Good Lord, y'all...I am more than proud of you this go around. All of YOU have gotten on board with this "Word of Mouth' Campaign about the lickalotta fest and it is showing.
Tennessee, I'm glad you have a nice size group coming out to represent. Georgia, you never disappoint us. North Carolina, it looks like you are doing your part this year, which makes us proud, seeing we live in North Carolina. Virginia representing, you rock! And, it goes on and on, Texas, Kansas, and California. Ohio, I here your coming down, wonderful.
BIG news...Joanie and I will be doing interviews in the next couple of weeks. We will keep you posted, so you can read them and share the excitement and pride we do, about being Camp Lickalotta and having the lickalotta's working right along with us for the community.
You need to check out, www.gay-e-magazine.com page 11 and let us know, and the magazine know what you think about the add for the Lickalotta Fest 2010'
San Francisco called Joanie today and we are finisning up an interivew in the next couple of days and will keep you posted. Y'all are becoming famous...LOL...YOU deserve it and we thank each and everyone of you for your love and support of our dream. It's been an adventure, and it's getting ready to get better.
So, www.lickalottafest.com is the place to go to purchase your tickets and sign up for vending. We have plenty of bands and would like a few more vendors to round things out nicely. Also, a few of you may be saying, I would come but, money's tight. Write to us..we have about 4 more free tick - WATF (We Are The Future)2 years agoHi Joseph Adetula Foundation,
Someone's sitting in the shade today because
someone planted a tree a long time ago.
~Warren Buffett~
In towering splendor once I stood
A regal monarch of the wood,
My branches once reached to the sky
See me now but do not cry.
The Creator's work has yet to cease
I've become a shelter for bird and beast,
And when at last I fall to the Earth
The life I leave will inspire new birth;
A seedling springs forth from the ground
Nature's cycle goes round and round.
~S. Edward Palmer, Spirit Tree~

At Camp Lickalotta Events, we make sure that our events are affordable so everyone can participate in our wonderfully diverse community. We do not have our own physical campground, but hope to obtain one in the future. Until that time arrives, we plan events where people can "come out" together and enjoy friendship and community. WE HAVE WEEKLY UPDATE BLOGS, every Wednesday night after 8 PM, on our MYSPACE PAGE, to keep you informed of the what is going on.
Camp Lickalotta Founders, Nancy Leedy and Joanie Beasley
We also have 2 web sites to help keep the Lickalotta's informed of what we are planning throughout the year. They are, www.camplickalotta.net and www.lickalottafest.com (Our annual Music Festival). .... So visit us often to keep up on what is happening at Camp Lickalotta.Music

Nancy likes to read. She is building a small library, so that when we get our actual campground she can loan out books to campers that may want to spend some time relaxing reading a book. Any donations to that would be appreciated.Heroes
Martin Luther King, JR, Mother Theresa, and all the hard working people in this world getting out there everyday and making it happen for their families and communities! WE SALUTE YOU!

About me:
MyGen Profile Generator ..

Camp Lickalotta is a membership organization of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender people and our Allies who value building community and share our love of the outdoors. We have organized and planned a variety of fun and exciting events, that include; camping events, free events, special events, seminars, and our main event, Lickalotta Fest. Lickalotta Fest is an annual music festival and camping weekend. For a listing of events go to, www.camplickalotta.net and for the Lickalotta Music Festival go to www.lickalottafest.com
Our members, or Lickalotta’s, as we like to call them, need only follow our simple creed and live our mission by example to….o LickalottaPrejudice
o LickalottaPollutants
o LickalottaPessimism
[Lick: to overcome or defeat, as in a fight, game, or contest.]
There is no denying our name is unusual. It grabbed your attention didn’t it? It is easy to dismiss our mission by focusing solely on our name. Earlier this year the name "Camp Lickalotta" did generate some rather unfriendly attention. That 'controversy' brought out the worst in some people but, it brought out the best in so many more. We have bounced back stronger, wiser and more resolved than ever to create something special. A place where everyone is welcome, safe and loved. So, to stop at our name is to miss out on a whole lot of, good clean fun with a higher purpose!
Who I'd like to meet:
PEOPLE that are willing to help us make the place a better world through EQUALITY for all!
