Conflict confirm they will take part in this years Rebellion festival in Blackpool, headlining the Olympia hall on Friday 3rd August. This appearance, to touch base and test resolve is considered a starting point for further appearances thereafter. Full details will be posted soon including cheaper entrance price for Conflict supporters. Conflict are NOT receiving a huge payment for this appearance as is being suggested, only expenses and essentials Colin Jerwood October 1 at 12:02am Apologies for the mass mail out in reply to questions but there are too many mails to answer at present, I will try to write on a more personal level soon in more detail. Conflict have not thrown the towel in and waved the white flag and in fact this couldn't be further from the truth. I will be able to share with all what has been created in the past year or so soon and hopefully this may encourage others to do something similar. Thank you for all the generous proposals but Conflict will NOT reform to make performances in the name of nostalgia and have no intention in wallowing in self righteous achievements or turning into a blast from the past. Performances are for actors who enjoy the stage and show time, a bit like the circus. Conflict WILL make live appearances the first which will take place in 2011 with some new members in the line up who do as they say and not say what they do. Appearances will only take place for a worthwhile reason and in spaces that can house the events properly. Conflict will no longer support the corporate gain which opposes the very reason for our existence and buggers everything that is right. Conflict will not be part of the stagnant, brainless, old, rock n roll machine that pathetically somehow still exists providing safe comfortable entertainment to satisfy and keep us permanently in our place. Conflict will return with a full on fresh approach detailed in new recordings and attempt to help create something really worthwhile, the way it should have always been. Colin Jerwood. Spare some time today for Andrew Sewell who fell on October 23 2004 The Icons of filth vocalist, An Animal liberation front activist, and a great mate. Stiggy smeg, Welsh and wonderful, lest we forget. To live on in hearts is never to die. CONFLICT... THE PUNK BAND... A GROUP OF PEOPLE... ANARCHISTS?.. A VOICE OF REBELLION... HARDENED. CYNICAL. BASTARDS... AN ACTIVIST ORGANISATION?.. A WAY OF LIFE. CONFLICT. A PART OF A MOVEMENT. THE MOVEMENT OF ALL MOVEMENTS. THE UNGOVERNABLE FORCE. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ...... CONFLICT…THE BATTLE CONTINUES. I am writing to update information and answer Three important questions that have been asked by many. I apologise for the delay and the impersonal mass mail out but hope you understand the reason. First, yes it is true that my mother has recently being diagnosed as having cancer; she has come through an initial operation and at present is in recovery. On Thursday 21st May we will receive information detailing if further surgery is required and advice on weather she is fit enough to participate. I would like to thank everyone so much for all the kind words of support and I will write to all personally in due course and keep you updated as things unfold. Secondly, I confirm that Conflict will be fulfilling appearances on all dates that are organised, in Scotland, Sweden and Poland. The full information will follow but please note that the Scottish appearance in Glasgow On Saturday May 23rd is now taking place at Barrowland 2, 244 Gallowgate. This is an all day event commencing at 2pm and concluding at midnight, advance tickets can be obtained from Avalanche records, 0141 332 2099 and Ticket Scotland, 0141 204 5151,or £12.50 at the door. Conflict have an amount of tickets that are available at a reduced price to those travelling distance or are short of funds, these concession tickets will be reserved at the box office for purchase on the day. There are also an amount of guest places, press passes and stall space available, make contact now for all information if interested. Please note Conflict stage time is 8.30 until 9.45. Finally, I'm sorry but at this time I honestly cannot say if I intend to finish Conflict or not as I really don't know myself. The decision, so important to me is something that requires time to really think and be perfectly clear about. What I can say is IF I feel Conflict has nothing left to offer and enough is enough, that I will fulfil the promise that Conflict will make a final appearance in as many countries as is possible. A way of trying to say thank you for all the years of overwhelming support, of saying goodbye to the many and to sign off as such. I would like to apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to fight off my neck injury and regain full function and for the frustrating false starts and various cancellations. The forthcoming appearances should determine if the condition could withstand the brutality that is the conflict set. Conflict will also complete the recording projects that will be released as Tilt, an album that will properly upset the apple cart. Take care. Colin Jerwood. Conflict. ...... The Gathering of the Thousands festival London scheduled for April 10th has been moved to May .All tickets will remain valid. Full details will be posted soon.Colin THE GATHERING OF THE THOUSANDS The gathering of the thousands festival for 2009 is taking place on holiday Friday April 10th at the Coronet theatre, 26-28 New Kent road, London, SE1 6TJ. This all night festival is unique with live appearances from a selection of twenty-five groups taking place in the main auditorium throughout the entire event, which runs from 6pm until 7am. The Coronet is London's best venue that has many bars, which will be open all night offering a wide range of quality alcoholic and soft drinks at reasonable prices, along with various drinks promotions. TELEPHONE/FAX 020 8850 8808. www.thegatheringofthethousands.com ANARCHIST CONFERENCE 2009 -IDEAS DAY Reminder: UK-wide Anarchist Movement Conference ideas day - January 17th London Please forward this open invite. It has been put together by comrades active in the anarchist movement in London over a number of years and is hoped to become an open and inclusive event. The conference proposal is a blank canvas, a chance to understand our own fragmentation and marginalisation as a movement and to develop solutions to it. 1.30pm - 6pm, Saturday January 17th Small Hall, Conway Hall, 25 Red Lion Square, London WC1 (nearest tube: Holborn). Bradford revisited…………………. Imagine a blank sheet of paper and you're considering ways of organising a political movement. One that seeks to challenge and destroy capitalist class society. What would that movement look like? Would it look anything like the one we have now, or would it, could it, look different? Does what we do at the moment work, when we are marginal, fragmented, and almost invisible to the very people we seek to address? Lets ask ourselves this question, "if our ideas are so brilliant, why are they so irrelevant to the daily lives of most working class people?" Once before, in Bradford in 1997, we asked these questions, and more, and although ultimately nothing came of it (some will strongly disagree with this), being as we are still more or less in the same position, some of us believe that we need to do it again. To go back to basics and question everything that we say and do. And hopefully we mean all of us – not just bits of our movement. Can we generate the confidence that would change our ideas and the way we work with each other? Can we generate the confidence that would play a small part in changing everything? To this end we propose to organise a conference sometime in 2009, that will be organised in a creative manner, challenge assumptions, and any preconceived ideas we have about each other. We hope it will break down rigid and ossified ways of thinking and acting, to turn everything about our world upside down. Some are suggesting this should be a London wide event. Some are suggesting it should be a national event. The verdict is still out on this; as well as where in the country it should be; how many days it should run over; and should it be an annual event. These and many more questions about the event are still undecided. This is why we want to have a large gathering of interested people to come and discuss what we should be organising. But, this initial meeting is to decide practical thing, and it is for people to take ..ing organise the event – not just a talking shop. It is not the conference itself. That will be a bit down the line and needs a lot of though and organisation. So, do you want to come and have a say about how the conference should be organised; for who; where; and what format? It is long over due for the lot of us to get together and talk through our politics in a friendly atmosphere with no other pressing issues. This conference is for ALL aspects of our movement and beyond. For further information or any questions email us at: conference@haringey.org.uk Thanks The fight back continues...... More from Athens Reports are coming in on Athens Indymedia that at approximately 3.23 this morning a riot cop was shot while guarding a building of the ministry of culture in Eksarhia. Mainstream media outlets confirmed the news; apparently the riot cop is injured (not in a life-threatening condition) and currently undergoing an operation. Meanwhile, IMC reports that there is an extensive police operation in Eksarhia right now; riot police have raided a number of bars and cafes, beating and arresting people inside. The entire Eksarhia square seems to be cordoned off by police. More,Latest news. We are under the boot of democratic dictators! A member of the anarchists nwespaper "Freedoms road" is held at the central police department from 11.15. He was arrested in his home!!! Yesterday night more than 72 people were arrested without charges but most of them are free cause there were no charges. Right now Eksarxeia square is full of cops trying to arrest more people cause they beleive that the guys that shoot with kalasnikovs last night, are still in the area. They are ILLEGALY searching door to door and if they think that somebody is a suspect they arrest him with no further question. The cop is ok we have a doctor that works in the hospital where he is,and he told us that the greek police and the chief of the hospital is lying about the "serious" condition of the pig. He has minor injuries. The police said that the kalaznikov where the same with the one that was used during an attack on a police station in N.Ionia(suberb of Athens)last year from the terrorists organization "Revolutionary fight" .. .... >> THE TIME HAS COME TO STAND UP AGAINST THE FINANCIAL MONEYMEN THAT KEEP THE ANIMALS DYING IN AGONY... From this point we will have a brief speech, before moving off together. FOR MORE INFO >> ..WWW. SHAC. NET.. POLICE PREVENT CONFLICT....URGENT NOTICE. The powers that be have INSISTED that the Astoria venue in London will now close on January 19th (even though all crew and staff have been paid until the end of that month). Conflict's appearance scheduled for January 31st is therefore unavoidably canceled and people should request ticket refunds from outlets as soon as possible. Conflict only agreed to make the unscheduled appearance due to the fact that it was the last ever punk festival to be held at the Astoria, and to raise urgently needed finance for appropriate causes. Conflict will NOT be organising an alterative appearance for the January 31st , as previously stated conflict will only make appearances that have reason and refuse to become part of the growing anarchist entertainment touring scene.. The police had voiced concern at what could happen with a group such as conflict concluding events at the London Astoria and frequently referred to the recent actions in Greece, highlighting the fact that Conflict slogans have been used in literature, and painted on walls and clothing. So that's it…….for now…..May day??? Colin Jerwood.Conflict ............ ...... ...... ...... ...... We've come for what's ours…" ====================================== In these days of rage, spectacle as a power-relation, as a relation that imprints memory onto objects and bodies, is faced with a diffuse counter-power which deterritorialises impressions allowing them to wonder away from the tyranny of the image and into the field of the senses. Senses are always felt antagonistically (they are always acted against something) – but under the current conditions they are driven towards an increasingly acute and radical polarisation. Against the supposedly peaceful caricatures of bourgeois media ("violence is unacceptable always, everywhere"), we can only cachinnate: their rule, the rule of gentle spirits and consent, of dialogue and harmony is nothing but a well calculated pleasure in beastliness: a promised carnage. The democratic regime in its peaceful façade doesn't kill an Alex every day, precisely because it kills thousands of Ahmets, Fatimas, JorJes, Jin Tiaos and Benajirs: because it assassinates systematically, structurally and without remorse the entirety of the third world, that is the global proletariat. It is in this way, through this calm everyday slaughter, that the idea of freedom is born: freedom not as a supposedly panhuman good, nor as a natural right for all, but as the war cry of the damned, as the premise of civil war. The history of the legal order and the bourgeois class brainwashes us with an image of gradual and stable progress of humanity within which violence stands as a sorry exception stemming from the economically, emotionally and culturally underdeveloped. Yet all of us who have been crushed between school desks, behind offices, in factories, know only too well that history is nothing but a succession of bestial acts installed upon a morbid system of rules. The cardinals of normality weep for the law that was violated from the bullet of the pig Korkoneas (the killer cop). But who doesn't know that the force of the law is merely the force of the powerful? That it is law itself that allows for violence to be exercised on violence? The law is void from end to bitter end; it contains no meaning, no target other than the coded power of imposition. At the same time, the dialectic of the left tries to codify conflict, battle and war, with the logic of the synthesis of opposites. In this way it constructs an order; a pacified condition within which everything has its proper little place. Yet, the destiny of conflict is not synthesis – as the destiny of war is not peace. Social insurrection comprises the condensation and explosion of thousands of negations, yet it does not contain even in a single one of its atoms, nor in a single one of its moments its own negation, its own end. This always comes heavy and gloomy like a certainty from the institutions of mediation and normalisation, from the left promising voting rights at 16, disarmament but preservation of the pigs, a welfare state, etc. Those, in other words, who wish to capitalise political gains upon the wounds of others. The sweetness of their compromise drips with blood. Social anti-violence cannot be held accountable for what it does not assume: it is destructive from end to end. If the struggles of modernity have anything to teach us, it is not their sad adhesion upon the subject (class, party, group) but their systematic anti-dialectical process: the act of destruction does not necessarily ought to carry a dimension of creation. In other words, the destruction of the old world and the creation of a new comprise two discrete but continuous processes. The issue then is which methods of destruction of the given can be developed in different points and moments of the insurrection. Which methods cannot only preserve the level and the extent of the insurrection, but contribute to its qualitative upgrading. The attacks on police stations, the clashes and roadblocks, the barricades and street battles now comprise an everyday and socialised phenomenon in the metropolis and beyond. And they have contributed to a partial deregulation of the circle of production and consumption. And yet, they still comprise in a partial targeting of the enemy; direct and obvious to all, yet entrapped in one and only dimension of the attack against dominant social relations. However, the process of production and circulation of goods in itself, in other words, the capital-relation, is only indirectly hit by the mobilisations. A spectre hovers over the city torched: the indefinite wild general strike. The global capitalist crisis has denied the bosses their most dynamic, most extorting response to the insurrection: "We offer you everything, for ever, while all they can offer is an uncertain present". With one firm collapsing after the other, capitalism and its state are no longer in a position to offer anything other than worse days to come, tightened financial conditions, sacks, suspension of pensions, welfare cuts, crush of free education. Contrarily, in just seven days, the insurgents have proved in practice what they can do: to turn the city into a battlefield, to create enclaves of communes across the urban fabric, to abandon individuality and their pathetic security, seeking the composition of their collective power and the total destruction of this murderous system. At this historical conjuncture of crisis, rage and the dismissal of institutions at which we finally stand, the only thing that can convert the systemic deregulation into a social revolution is the total rejection of work. When street fighting will be taking place in streets dark from the strike of the Electricity Company; when clashes will be taking place amidst tons of uncollected rubbish, when trolley-buses will be closing streets, blocking off the cops, when the striking teacher will be lighting up his revolted pupil's molotov cocktail, then we will be finally able to say: "Ruffians, the days of your society are numbered; we weighted its joys and its justices and we found them all too short". This, today, is no longer a mere fantasy but a concrete ability in everyone's hand: the ability to act concretely on the concrete. The ability to charge the skies. If all of these, namely the extension of the conflict into the sphere of production-circulation, with sabotages and wild strikes seem premature, it might just be because we haven't quite realised how fast does power decomposes, how fast confrontational practices and counter-power forms of organising are socially diffused: from high school students pelting police stations with stones, to municipal employees and neighbours occupying town halls. The revolution does not take place with prayers towards and piety for historical conditions. It occurs by seizing whatever opportunity of insurrection in every aspect of the social; by transforming every reluctant gesture of condemnation of the cops into a definite strike to the foundations of this system. .. .. ...... CONFLICT CONTINUES. Conflict announces that appearances will resume in 2009, front man vocalist Colin has overcome a serious neck condition and has now resumed full fitness. As previously stated most conflict appearances' will take place as part of the groups The Gathering of the Thousands festivals, and initially these will take place throughout May in England,Scotland,Wales and Ireland before venturing into Europe and beyond. These gatherings will NOT be held in mainstream corporate establishments but instead will attempt to offer a REAL alterative. Conflict will also not accept offers to present regular Conflict concerts in such venues but will always consider taking part in any festival style events, anytime, at any venue, anywhere. Conflicts intend as promised to fulfill all postponed appearances' including those in Canada and France and will announce details as soon as confirmed. Those who are interested in the gatherings in anyway, be it venues, promoters, groups, organizations, stall holders, to simply require further information or request an appearance by Conflict please make contact now. Thank you for your support. CONFLICT.LONDON.AUGUST.2008 Conflict.more cancellations.future appearances.Tilt. More cancellations. Unfortunately I regret that I am unable to fulfill Conflict appearances in Scotland, Austria and France scheduled for April 2008. The progressive injury to my neck worsened during U.S.A dates in December and has failed to heal satisfactorily in time. At present the neck is simply not strong enough for me to complete the Conflict set at an acceptable level. Medical experts' advice is that I should refrain from live appearances until 2009 in order to 'possibly' avoid further damage. However, it is my firm intention to recommence sooner and therefore a one off (test)appearance will take place in August when Conflict WILL take part in the Rebellion Festival in Blackpool, England. I would sincerely like to apologise to the Childline promoters in Glasgow, Scotland, to Daz Russell and all the Rebellion festival team and to the French organisations for these unavoidable cancellations. I also want to extend these apologies once again to all involved in the past cancellations during 2006 and 2007,namely William (West Coast USA,)Joe(East Coast USA),Dom(Canada),the French distro people and of course the Leicester crew. Finally I wish to apologise to anyone who hoped to attend these events to see Conflict, thank those who have attended in the past and everyone who has shown Conflict such strong support. Future appearances. The ongoing injury has now become so frustrating and is deeply disappointing and at present there seems to be no solution. In truth I have underestimated the seriousness of the situation and many have said I have not shown the condition enough respect, but I wanted to resume appearances and would never do a lame Conflict set that simply went through the motions, that just ain't me.. So what then? Stop playing for good? Keep going? At what cost? One thing I am sure of is there is no point in keeping trying to book dates that may end up having to be cancelled again and again, it's unfair to all involved and upsetting to me. It now seems certain that I will never be able to undertake heavy touring schedules again and will need to limit the amount of appearances and constantly assess the situation. I am not ready yet to walk away from all this and simply give up. This incredible lifelong journey I have been so fortunate to be involved in is what I do, it is all I have ever done. Therefore I think for the foreseeable future Conflict should only make appearances at festivals(after August) but more importantly we should organise and take part in our own festivals. THE GATHERING OF THE THOUSANDS These events should all be for a specific reason(not just another festival) and only to raise funds for many organisations and causes. They could be held worldwide and organised by people that really care about what we are all trying to achieve, in venues that are as suitable as is possible. A final note on appearances, even before Friday's news regarding my neck, I had decided that Conflict would not be going ahead with the Carling Academy dates in September, to me they were just pointless gigs in the acceptable touring circuit that I never want Conflict to become a part of. Taking part in festivals in mainstream venues such as the academy chain is worthwhile as it breaks new ground and attracts new people, but a Conflict gig in itself should always be held in more appropriate venues and be relevant. A huge thankyou to Chris gee for his understanding, support and concern. Conflict..new album..single..video..Tilt. Work is now well underway on the above projects. I have been working with Mark Pickstone and more recently Spike T Smith the Conflict drummer whose input has been immense and the results are sounding fantastic. I am also pleased and proud to announce that Calvin Sewell, Stigg's boy(Icons of Filth,)is joining me on vocal duties and is also helping create the projects. Calvin will also be taking part in Conflict appearances in the future. Thankyou once again for your continued support. Colin .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ..

Conflict will also complete the recording projects that will be released as Tilt, an album that will properly upset the apple cart. Take care. Colin Jerwood. Conflict. Imagine a blank sheet of paper and you’re considering ways of organising a political movement. One that seeks to challenge and destroy capitalist class society. What would that movement look like? Would it look anything like the one we have now, or would it, could it, look different? Does what we do at the moment work, when we are marginal, fragmented, and almost invisible to the very people we seek to address? Lets ask ourselves this question, “if our ideas are so brilliant, why are they so irrelevant to the daily lives of most working class people?” Once before, in Bradford in 1997, we asked these questions, and more, and although ultimately nothing came of it (some will strongly disagree with this), being as we are still more or less in the same position, some of us believe that we need to do it again. Colin Jerwood.Conflict Conflict will headline the last punk festival at the astoria in london on January 31st(The venue is to be replaced with yet anouther unwanted train station and....more flats and offices) The festival is not a benifit for any organisations but Conflict are donating their share of profits to certain orgainisations who know who they are. CONFLICT ON FACEBOOK! "Up against the wall motherfuckers! We’ve come for what’s ours…" ====================================== In these days of rage, spectacle as a power-relation, as a relation that imprints memory onto objects and bodies, is faced with a diffuse counter-power which deterritorialises impressions allowing them to wonder away from the tyranny of the image and into the field of the senses. Senses are always felt antagonistically (they are always acted against something) – but under the current conditions they are driven towards an increasingly acute and radical polarisation. Against the supposedly peaceful caricatures of bourgeois media (“violence is unacceptable always, everywhere”), we can only cachinnate: their rule, the rule of gentle spirits and consent, of dialogue and harmony is nothing but a well calculated pleasure in beastliness: a promised carnage. The democratic regime in its peaceful façade doesn’t kill an Alex every day, precisely because it kills thousands of Ahmets, Fatimas, JorJes, Jin Tiaos and Benajirs: because it assassinates systematically, structurally and without remorse the entirety of the third world, that is the global proletariat. But who doesn’t know that the force of the law is merely the force of the powerful? The global capitalist crisis has denied the bosses their most dynamic, most extorting response to the insurrection: “We offer you everything, for ever, while all they can offer is an uncertain present”. When street fighting will be taking place in streets dark from the strike of the Electricity Company; when clashes will be taking place amidst tons of uncollected rubbish, when trolley-buses will be closing streets, blocking off the cops, when the striking teacher will be lighting up his revolted pupil’s molotov cocktail, then we will be finally able to say: “Ruffians, the days of your society are numbered; we weighted its joys and its justices and we found them all too short”. This, today, is no longer a mere fantasy but a concrete ability in everyone’s hand: the ability to act concretely on the concrete. The ability to charge the skies. If all of these, namely the extension of the conflict into the sphere of production-circulation, with sabotages and wild strikes seem premature, it might just be because we haven’t quite realised how fast does power decomposes, how fast confrontational practices and counter-power forms of organising are socially diffused: from high school students pelting police stations with stones, to municipal employees and neighbours occupying town halls. The revolution does not take place with prayers towards and piety for historical conditions. It occurs by seizing whatever opportunity of insurrection in every aspect of the social; by transforming every reluctant gesture of condemnation of the cops into a definite strike to the foundations of this system.

CONFLICT ON FACEBOOK! CONFLICT CONTINUES. Conflict announces that appearances will resume in 2009, front man vocalist Colin has overcome a serious neck condition and has now resumed full fitness. As previously stated most conflict appearances’ will take place as part of the groups The Gathering of the Thousands festivals, and initially these will take place throughout May in England,Scotland,Wales and Ireland before venturing into Europe and beyond. These gatherings will NOT be held in mainstream corporate establishments but instead will attempt to offer a REAL alterative. Conflict will also not accept offers to present regular Conflict concerts in such venues but will always consider taking part in any festival style events, anytime, at any venue, anywhere. Conflicts intend as promised to fulfill all postponed appearances’ including those in Canada and France and will announce details as soon as confirmed. Medical experts’ advice is that I should refrain from live appearances until 2009 in order to ’possibly’ avoid further damage. In truth I have underestimated the seriousness of the situation and many have said I have not shown the condition enough respect, but I wanted to resume appearances and would never do a lame Conflict set that simply went through the motions, that just ain’t me.. So what then? Stop playing for good? Keep going? At what cost? One thing I am sure of is there is no point in keeping trying to book dates that may end up having to be cancelled again and again, it’s unfair to all involved and upsetting to me. A final note on appearances, even before Friday’s news regarding my neck, I had decided that Conflict would not be going ahead with the Carling Academy dates in September, to me they were just pointless gigs in the acceptable touring circuit that I never want Conflict to become a part of. I am also pleased and proud to announce that Calvin Sewell, Stigg’s boy(Icons of Filth,)is joining me on vocal duties and is also helping create the projects. Calvin will also be taking part in Conflict appearances in the future. Thankyou once again for your continued support. Colin ..
