    Les chemins de Amélie Nault et Olivier Beaulieu se croisent initialement dans la Vieille Capitale où le duo s'amuse à revisiter ses idoles. Déclencheur pour le tandem qui ne se quitte plus et s'affaire à jeter les bases d'un projet à définir... Après quelques prestations triées sur le volet, Nault et Beaulieu rencontrent Alexandre Blais et Simon Pedneault qui viennent peaufiner le son et confirmer le ton. De quoi donner la force nécessaire au son appuyé et caractériel de i.No. Une trame décomplexée où les consonances granuleuses se donnent des allures orchestrales - tantôt sensuelles, tantôt fantomatiques. Quelque chose d'un folk, d'un rock, d'un soul, qui battent d'un seul et même coeur. Enivrante au possible, leur musique suscite très tôt l'attention tant du côté de l'industrie qui lui fait de l'oeil, que du public qui s'y abandonne : Le Festival Envol et Macadam leur décerne la victoire du Global Battle of the bands en 2009, puis, en 2010, ils crient victoire au concours Le plus beau rythme de la Mauricie du Festivoix de Trois-Rivières. Après quoi c'est au tour du Festival Diapason de remarquer le jeune quatuor par le biais du public qui lui décerne la mention de son volet Coup de Coeur. Sans compter des passages remarqués au Festival d'Été de Québec de même qu'au Festival de Musique Émergente en Abitibi. Un parcours qui prend du galon et à travers lequel la formation monte sur les planches aux quatre coins de la province - puis en France - en tête d'affiche ou pour y assurer les premières parties de David Usher, Morcheeba, Karkwa, Yoav, Martha Wainwright ou encore The Sounds pour ne nommer que ceux-ci. Après quelques 20 000 clics sur YouTube pour la pièce « Mon chéri », écrite en mémoire d'un ami disparu trop tôt, et un EP de quatre titres - qui comprend la très prisée « Label Me » -, le groupe s'apprête à lancer un premier opus portant le nom Haunted Hearts en février 2012. The inseparable duo began to lay the groundwork for an as-yet amorphous musical project. Then came the breakthrough: after a few carefully-chosen appearances, Nault and Beaulieu met Alexandre Blais and Simon Pedneault, who helped polish the sound and confirm the tone. It is hard to find words to describe i.No's relentless, unsettling sound. An uninhibited fabric of sound, whose grainy harmonies lend orchestral overtones, both sensual and haunting. Elements of folk, rock and soul beat together in the same heart. Their tremendously intoxicating music attracted immediate attention both from industry insiders and the public. They won the Festival Envol et Macadam Global Battle of the Bands in 2009 and the Plus beau rythme de la Mauricie prize at the Festivoix de Trois-Rivières in 2010. Next to take note was the Festival Diapason, whose audience voted the young quartet their most favorite. The band also had standout appearances at the Festival d'Été de Québec and the Festival de Musique Émergente en Abitibi. As they gained momentum, the band played shows all over the province, as well as in France, appearing both as headliners and in support of such luminaries as David Usher, Morcheeba, Karkwa, Yoav, Martha Wainwright and The Sounds, to name but a few. After some 20,000 YouTube hits for their video "Mon chéri", written in memory of a friend who died too soon, and a four-track EP including the popular "Label Me", the group is preparing to launch their first full-length album, to be entitled Haunted Hearts, in February 2012.
