I WOULD LIKE TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT! PLEASE READ AND IF YOU LIKE WHAT YOU READ, PASS ON TO OTHERS! September 8, 2006 [UPDATED] I, Paul Joseph Edwards a.k.a. "Average Joe," declare on this day of June 19, 2006, that I will like to run for president of the United States of America, in the 2008 election race! If I get the approval and support of the people of United States of America, who are citizens by birth or naturalization. This is not a joke or scam, but, the real thing! You ask why? I say why not? This country was founded by people saying all people are equal, no matter how much money they have, how much schooling they have, no matter what their religion is, nor gender of the person, or race! So why do I want to run for the president of U.S.A.? When was the last time someone poor as I and did so? It is time, someone, like me, does this, someone, who knows, how hard life is, in our country now! How to live on, what we make an hour now, is very hard! Just to buy, foods, pay our bills, pay our (heath, life, house, and vehicle insurance) and paying high gas prices! How can someone, with the education I have, run for this office? I will have advisors, to help me, make the right decisions, just like, all the presidents, in the past, have done. My advisors, will not be for big business or mega-rich people, but, for the poorer or middle class people. I’ve nothing against them, but, I think it is time, to get people, who are closer to us in life, into politics! How can I afford, to run for president, since I’m poor? The people like me, middle class families, and I hope richer people, who was poor before, will help finance and volunteer to help me, run our campaign, too. Yes, volunteers from every state, all the cities, towns, and small villages in them. What kind of volunteers will I want? Anyone, no matter of income, race, gender, age, religion or politics choice in the past. Even persons who never vote, they can be volunteers, as long as they sign up to vote, after they become volunteers. How much do I expect from donations, at least a $1.00 up to as much as they can afford, please don’t put yourself into a blind! About myself, I was born on January 2, 1954. In Owensboro, Kentucky. I’m 52 years old now. Live a few years Kentucky, then, move Evansville, Indiana, when I was seven years old, my mother remarried, moves to Illinois, and since I was 15 years old, live in southern Illinois. In education, have some college, major was computer programming. Was in the Air Force during Viet Nam war. Was discharge with an Honorable Discharge. In my life I had my up and downs in life, I’ve learned from it, I’m a better person from doing so! I’ve been married twice, the first time a few months, the second time now for 20 years. No children from the first one, two children by my wife now. Our oldest is 10 years old, then, our youngest is 6 years old. In the 20 years of marriage, we had our up and downs, too but, we stuck in there, to make it through the hard times! My wife is from the Phillippines. She has lived here now for 19 years and seven months. She’s a naturalization citizen for more than 15 years now. Early this year, she found out she had cancer in a gland on the left side of the neck. She starts her radiation treatments on June 19 of this year for six weeks. This should be enough on our family life, more later. How would I take care of all the above? BELOW IS IS MY LIST OF ISSUES. I LIKE TO ACCOMPLISH, AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IF I AM ELECTED. I KNOW SOME OF THEM, but YOU MAY NOT LIKE OR TO DISAGREE ON. There is A OLD SAYING, “YOU CAN PLEASE MOST OF THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME, BUT, YOU CANNOT PLEASE ALL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME”,. I HOPE, I GOT THAT SAYING RIGHT, BUT, I THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY IT. 1} Jobs: This Is the Most Important of this List! Find Ways to Bring Back the Jobs Lost to Other Countries. Create New Jobs to Help Homeless Families Gets Back on Their Feet. How You Ask, Those on Welfare and Homeless, They Most Work or Go to School, While on Welfare. The Government and States Will Create Jobs That Will Train Them or Send Them to School So They Can Learn Something That Will Help Them Get a Job. By Helping Them Do This, We Will Get Them off the Streets and Welfare Faster. Its Not as Easy as it Sounds, But, Can Be Done. Was Done Before, after the Depression, My Father Told Me, about Them. It Works Then, it Should Work Now. Of Course, They Will Be Taught in the Modern Fields of Work, Like, Computers (All Fields), Electronics, Manufacturing, and Etc...,. Yes, There Are Programs Now, That Does That. We Need to Do More, in the Way of Taking Care of Their Kids and Support, While They Learn. In Doing This, We Get Them of Welfare, Back in the Work Force. 2} Health Insurance; This Has Been Promise by So Many, But, as of Now, Nothing Done. Right Now, 80% (+/-) of People in the USA, They Either, Cannot Afford It, Their Employer Doesn’t Offer It, or Not Enough to Cover You and Family. I Purpose to Change That. Would like to Make it the Federal Government Duty, to Make Sure, All Who Cannot Afford It, All Those Whom Employers Don’t Offer Enough Insurance, and for Those Companies Who Do Offer It, Help in a Form of Tax Breaks, to Cover Their Expenses in Covering Their Employees. For Those That Are Not Working, Help the State Government to Cover Them. How to Cover it and All the Social Security Benefits, I Talk about in Other Documents. I Would Start a New Sales Tax, to Help Pay For, the above and Help Social Security. It’s the Only Way to Do it and Hope, You Agree, Too! 3} Taxes; So Much Has Been Done to It, It’s a Mind Trip, Just to Get Through It. Its Needs, to Be Fix this Time, Do it Right! By Experts Who Will Be Fair to All Groups of People! I Cannot Be More Detail about This, until I Get Some CPA’s on My Staff, to Work it out for Us. 4} Immigrating; Theirs Nothing Wrong with the Laws We Got Now, Only Be Very Sure of Whom We Allow In! As for the Illegal Ones, Send Them Back to Their Country, and They Can File like the Others for Work Permits or Etc...,. for Those Mexicans, Coming Across to Work on Jobs, Nobody Here Wants to Do, They Should Be Allowed to Get Temp. Work Permits, for That. When the Job Is Over, They Go Back Home, to Mexico. 5} International Relations; I Want to Always Keep Friendly with Everyone, But, Always Take Care of Home First, Then, Others Next! I Know That’s Vague, But, Will Have to Wait Until, I Get My Advisors on My Team, to Explain it in More Detail. 6} Terrorists; to Find and Capture or Eliminate Any and All Terrorists Who Harm Us and Our Country in the Past, Present, and Future! I Will Do as Good If Not Better Then Others Would. I Hate Terrorists, and Think We Need to Stop it or Cut it down as Much as We Can. Also, I Think We Need to Find out Why They Do What They Do, and Find Ways to Stop That Kind of Thinking Against Us and Others. No Matter What We Say or Do, They Still Are out Their Killing People. I didn’t go into details, reason why, I don’t want the crooks, sex offenders, or terrorists to know what I’m going to do about them!! Yes, I have some plans for all of them!!!!!!!!!! 7} Social Security; it Is a Mess Now, That’s What I Think! It Needs to Go Back the Way it Was and Cover All the Medicines They Need, Unless, Their Income Is over a Certain Amount, Then, They Pay a Co-pay Amount. I Want to Find out Why it Is Having So Much Trouble, and Fix It! I Think Money Been Taken out of Social Security to Be Use in Other Gov. Bills. If That Is True, I Put a Stop to It, and Repair It, and Fix it So it Will Not Be Done Again! We Need to Take Care of Our Seniors, as They Took Care of Us, When We Were Children! 8} Veterans Benefits; V.A. Has Their Budget Cut So Much, it Is a Wonder it Can Help as Many Veterans as They Do Now. I Want to Increase Their Budget, and Decrease the Co-pay for Persons Who Is in the Low Income Level. Our Veterans Fought for Us in Wars, They Need this Care, They Should Never Be Forgotten! 9} Gun Control; We Have the Right to Own Guns, the below Is from the Constitution, it Says it All for Me! “That the People Have a Right to Bear Arms for the Defense of Themselves and Their Own State, or the United States, or for the Purpose of Killing Game; and No Law Will Be Passed for Disarming the People or Any of Them, Unless for Crimes Committed, or Real Danger of Public Injury from Individuals; and as Standing Armies in the Time of Peace Are Dangerous to Liberty, They Ought Not to Be Kept Up; and That the Military Will Be Kept under Strict Subordination to and Be Governed by the Civil Power.” I Will Always Support the Right to Own Guns and Protect Ourselves from Crooks Who Have Them! 10} Abortion; I Believe If a Woman or Girl Was Rape by Someone, Boyfriend, Family Male Member, or Will Die of Having the Baby, Then, She Has a Right to Have Abortion! If She Gets Pregnant Because, She Didn’t Have or Didn’t Take Birth Control. Then, She Should Have the Baby, Give it to Some Childless Couple Who Wants Children, If She Doesn’t Want it of Course. The Roe V. Wade Case Takes Care of It, I Wouldn’t Mess with It, Ok! 11} Gas & New Energy; this Is Something That Should Have Been Taken Care of Years Ago. But, the Oil Companies Didn’t Want Us to Do So! All They Want Is Our Money, They Do Not Want New Energy, That Takes Money from Them. I Want to Get Started on Any Kind of New and Better Energy as Soon as I Can, If Elected President. Here Are My Answers, and Some Will Work Really Soon, Others My Take a Few Years to Get Going. (1) Open up More Oil Wells Here in Our Country, There Is Still a Lot of Oil Here to Pump Out. (2) Get Some More Refineries Built and More Methanol Fuel Refineries Built, Too! It Can Be Added to Gas. Someday Soon, I Hope it Is 50% Gas and 50% Methanol Mix. Yes I Know That Older Vehicles Will Have to Be Fix, to Run on It. Kits Can Be Made, If Not Already, and Sold to Use That Can of Fuel Mix. (3) Offer a Reward to the First Person(s) or Company, Who Can Invent a Better and Cleaner Fuel, That Would Work! 12} Environment; We Need to Take it Seriously! In Finding New Energy, it Needs to Be a Lot less Harmful to Our Environment, Then Gas Is Now. If We Don’t Find Safer Fuel, Our Kids, Grandchildren and Future Generations, Will Suffer. Is There Something out There? Yes There Is! I Will Find Them Too, If Elected! 13} Truth; It Seems Like, There Are More Lies, Then Truth Coming from Our Government. I Do Not like it and I Think You Also Feel the Same, Right? It Is Time to Change That! If it Is Not, National Security Rated Information. I Will Tell the Truth or Say No Commit, If it Was National Security Stuff, Then, Would Say So, Instead of Lying about It. I Know We Want Our Gov. To Tell Us All, So Do I. 14} School Prayer and Religious Beliefs and Non-beliefs; I Think this Issue Was the Biggest Mistake Our Country Made! To Restrict this Is So Wrong! In Everything We Have in Our Government, it Says in God We Trust! Our Country Is Base on Religion Freedom, to Worship Our God, No Matter What We Call Our God. Now, We Have Only One Choice to Get this Freedom Back. Have a Nation Wide Vote on It. This Vote Will over Rule Any Court or Legal Action Taken in the Past. It Will Fix It, If Elected, So it Cannot Be over Rule by Any Court Ruling in the Future! This Will Be So, Because, Majority Rules! If Majority Votes to Allow School Prayer and Also, Allow Cities and Etc..., to Display Religious Decorations or 10 Commandments During Holidays. 15} Same Sex Marriage; I Am Against It, But, That’s My Opinion. As President, I Have to Put My Opinion Aside Address This. So to Settle it Once for All, like Above, Put it to a Vote, Let the People of America Choose If it Should Be Legal or Not. Then, Let That Be the End of It. 16} Minimal Wage; It’s Been Nine Years, since it Was Raised, Our Republican’s, Voted it down as Usual, Again! Then, They Voted Themselves a Pay Raise! It Shows You, the Heck with Us Poor People and They Need More Money to Live On! How about Us? With the Gas Prices and Other Things Going Up, How Will We Get By? If I’m Elected, I Will Change the Minimal Wage Issue, Instead of Us Waiting for Congress and the Senate to Ok Our Pay Raise. Let Us Change it to a Law. In this New Law, the Minimal Wage Will Be Going up Automatic, When, the Cost of Living Goes Up! If this Is in Place, Then, the Minimal Wage Will Be Fair, and We Are Better off from It! 17} Our Borders with Mexico and Canada; I Would Increase the Borders Guards. With Nation Guard Troops from the States near Them, and from Other States. I Think it Is Wrong to Use Nation Guards to Fight Wars in Other Countries! They Our to Be Use Here in Their Country, to Protect Our Country from Invasion, Terrorists, after a Bad Storms and Etc...,. I Can Not Stress this More Then This! Our Borders Needs to Be Protected! How Will I Get All this Done, You Ask? Either with congress and senate or through the people. 18} Term limits for Congress and Senate; As of now, there is no term limit on our Congress and Senate Representatives. They can keep running for that office, over and over, until they retire or lose their seat there! I think it is time that was change! Like the Presidents’ office, they can only be in office eight years, then, new people take over. Some of our Representatives have been in office so long. They grow roots there! They are so set in their ways. They will never change it to new ideas or issues. That’s why we need new people in there every eight years, so it can always, change with the times.
