About

With the release of their debut album 'Minutes' on The Richter Collective, Irish post-hardcore trio Jogging have been very busy building up a fan base around their home country. Kind words from magazines like Hot Press and AU, along with webzines like Ragged Words and State.ie, have been fueling interest in their exciting live shows and “ferociously impressive debut” album.

Musically, the band wouldn't be out of place sitting amongst Dischord/Washington luminaries like Fugazi, Faraquet and even early Q and Not U, something which was only strengthened by the stamp of approval from T.J. Lipple, who mastered the record in Washington DC. Recorded in Kilcoole, Co. Wicklow by James Eager & Eoin Whitfield (Enemies) over 8 days, it was the 4th release in 2010 from Irish indie label The Richter Collective (home to Adebisi Shank, The Redneck Manifesto, Not Squares & more).

Their first 2 years saw Jogging share the stage with acts as diverse as Parts & Labor, Polvo, Crystal Antlers, Ponytail, Pulled Apart By Horses, And So I Watch You From Afar and The Redneck Manifesto. Word of mouth from these shows, along with radio sessions for national stations 2FM (for The Dan Hegarty Show), RTE Radio 1 (for Arena) and on TV (for TG4’s Ceol ar an Imeall) have meant that Jogging have been very busy in 2010. Minutes also placed in the top 10 of Nialler9.com’s Reader’s Choice Irish Albums of 2010 and has garnered nominations in the Best Rock and Best Indie albums of the year in the Digital Socket Awards.

Jogging are an intense, raw blend of post-hardcore and gutsy indie rock while maintaining a fresh, urgent and current edge. Their aim for 2011 is to get out of Ireland and take their angular rock to the rest of the world.
