We have uploaded a video of Stian Kristoffersen playing Atomic Firelight live at Hamar, Hydranten that was on the 17th of September.
Update:Cheers to the world!I know it's been a long time since you heard from us. We have been very busy doing the final touches on the forthcoming album. It's been quite a hectic year in fact, it usually is when we are silent. The beginning of the year was mostly about conceiving ideas and do pre-productions. We recorded ahelluvalot back then, too. And again from this spring we have been busy recording both in our hometown Skien and in Trondheim at Keep of Kalessin's studio. Now I can finally announce that Nils, Stian and Jorn Viggo are back from the mixing sessions in Stockholm, Sweden. Stefan Glaumann at Toytown Studios (known for prods as Rammstein, Madonna, Within Temptation etc.) once again took on the task to mix our new album. In September we did a couple of gigs here at home, playing Drammen, Hamar and Trondheim with awesome response. Good turnout and nice people, and thanks to our happy-faced merch man we are totally out of merch at the moment, but fear not. Within a fourthnight there will be plenty in stock. The only few gigs we did abroad this year went well, too. We played three gigs in The Netherlands and one big in-door festival in Mons, Belgium as special guests for Scorpions. Loads of friends playing good sets, too; such as Ivanhoe Virus IV, Adagio and of course England's Pythia, who supported us on all these gigs. Nice people, nice bus...We recently finished our cooperation with our old label, and in that regard we are ready to work with a new label. Anyone with a serious offer should go to our booking page for info and contact. There will be a studio report coming your way within a couple of weeks!Until then, cheers and be kind to one another.Your friend,SteinarInterview with Steinar:It's bin a long time since we heard something from Pagan's Mind Wat are you guys up to?S: We have been busy all year doing gigs and recording our brand new album, which is in the final stages of mix at Toytown studios in Stockholm, Sweden. Three of us participated at the beginning of the mix, while producer Jorn Viggo is there for two more week to oversee the process. Stefan Glaumann (Rammstein, Madonna, Within Temptation and many more) is a great engineer with a subtle and great ear. He's truly a pleasure to work with. Apart from that we did a mini tour in April in The Netherlands with Pythia supporting us, before ending up in Mons, Belgium at this huge indoor festival with us playing right before Scorpions. It was a blast, seeing so many fans and friends again. When will the album approximately be released?S: Oh, God knows. Probably within the first months of next year, I hope. We recently finished our collaboration with our previous label and are open to any truly serious offers. Anyone interested in striking a deal with us could reach us by the contact info listed on either our homepage or Facebook.God's Equation was apparently more different than it's previous albums. Will the new album sound like God's Equation or more like the older albums, that are a bit more "progressive"?S: God's Equation was a new era for us both in terms of song struciture and production. This time around we are using the same engineers because we were overwhelmed by the production of God's Equation. I'm not saying that our previous CDs aren't good (the productions of both Fredrik Nordstrom and Tommy Hansen are both top notch hi-fi), but it's just a matter of what flavor you would like today. It's like arguing what beer is the best, Heineken or Grolsch. They ar eboth top notch beers! Cheers! Regarding the new material, it will be even more melodic and traight-to-the-point, but at the same time searching, epic, and eerie...and heavy as F@$%#!!!Are you happy about how the album is progressing, and how excited are you about it?S: Oh yes! I am like a little boy on X-mas eve, waiting for the guys to come home with my gift. And what a gift! This is how we get our kicks these days, and of course from playing live. I am very happy with the songs and how they have evolved. Remember, we have tons and tons, hours and hours of ideas just lying around waiting for the right moment to be incorporated somewhere. It is really a luxury problem. But overall we are all very happy. You just wait and see. I'm sure you all will be happy, too. We are in good hands once again. Glaumann is very clever, but at times anal-retentive. I guess that is what makes him stand out from the rest, just like Fredrik Nordstrom, who has a different flare to his productions. I'm a hi-fi freak myself, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the new mix. I will torture my neighbors for sure! Are you planning to use new equipment when Pagan's Mind tours after the release of the album?S: I am very happy with my sponsorship with Ibanez and I have no plans on changing a good thing. They are very friendly and help me out with what I need. I started out playing Ibanez at the age of 12, and finally ended up with them as partners. Me like! Regarding amplifiers, I am going to try out some equipment from Mark Bass, which I have played before and sounds great, It's like Ampeg without the weight, but still as heavy sounding. Thanks for giving answers to every question and we are looking forward to the new album.S: No problem. And all fans: sit tight!
We have also uploaded a little video of JV and Glaumann mixing the new album. (Only guitars, drums and some bass)
