Self-described "Sloppy Pop" trio Parlovr (pronounced "parlor") formed in Montreal, Quebec in 2005 around the talents of Louis Jackson, Alex Cooper, and Jeremy MacCuish.
Employing a heavily beat-up arsenal of drums, keyboards, and guitars, the trio bangs out willful slabs of experimental rock that reflect a wide range of influences that include the Pixies, Guided by Voices, and the Talking Heads, as well as a healthy dose of the kind of anthem-driven, ensemble-heavy indie rock that has fueled similarly themed Canadian acts like Plants and Animals, Arcade Fire, and Handsome Furs. Parlovr issued its debut, self-released eponymous LP in 2008. ~ James Christopher Monger
