RECEIVE GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR “THE ROYALTY/ LA REALEZA”
The duo's new album is nominated for “Best Latin Urban Album”
“Te Regalo Amores” is 1 on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Chart For 4th Consecutive Week
(Miami, FL) Thursday, December 4, 2008 – While in the midst of a very busy schedule comprised of promotional activities and performances, reggaeton's romantic duo RKM & KEN-Y received the great news that they were nominated for an Anglo Grammy. THE ROYALTY (La Realeza), their latest production released under Pina Records/Machete Music, was announced as one of the nominated albums in the category for BEST LATIN URBAN ALBUM (Vocal or Instrumental).
Also nominated in the category are Akwid and Wisin Y Yandel.
“We are happy and very excited”, proclaimed the duo after finding out about the nomination. RKM & Ken-Y were informed of the nod just as they finished taping a performance for Telemundo's New Year's Eve special. “Hopefully this nomination will help to elevate the genre we represent. It is always exciting when your hard work is recognized, and we greatly appreciate this honor” declared Ken-Y.
“This album has been blessed by the support of our fans and this nomination only adds to the happiness that THE ROYALTY continues to bring us,” added RKM.
RKM & Ken-Y will be the principle figures in the “B Cool” campaign for the Muscular Distrophy Association. The duo participated in an extensive photo session that will be used for the campaign. This all comes after an international tour that included stops in Venezuela, Bolivia, El Salvador and the US. Next, RKM & Ken-Y prepare for a stellar performance at the Vina Del Mar Festival in Chile that will take place in early 2009.
“Te Regalo Amores”, first single from The Royalty, has become a mega-hit and has remained at the 1 position on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Chart for 4 consecutive weeks. As the track continues to dominate national radio, the second single “Cuerpo Sensual” a dynamic collaboration with reggaeton mega-star Don Omar has already began to infiltrate the radio airwaves in the US and Puerto Rico.
