The Skopitones bring to this world a mix of traditional Jamaican Ska and a jazzy and soulful voice.

After the successful experience that was Les Rockeurs de Valves, winners of the Envol et Macadam contest in 2006, many of the band members expressed their desire to explore the roots of ska. They added more horns to their lineup traded the rock and punk for the groove and skank of Jamaican music and completed the lineup with the powerful and silky voice of Lily Thibodeau! Thus were born The Skopitones.

The music of these 8 musicians rally a broad audience. Young rebels or experienced enthusiasts, they gather to listen and dance to the upbeat and festive music. Their interpretation of many tunes from the 60s repertoire is especially appreciated amongst the fans of the genre.

On stage, driven by the solid rhythm groove and supported by a blazing horn section, they are sure to make you move and skank the night away!

Les Skopitones c'est ce qui arrive quand on mélange du ska traditionnel jamaïcain avec une voix voix soul et jazzée.

Forts de l'expérience que furent Les Rockeurs de Valves, vainqueurs du concours Envol et Macadam 2006, plusieurs de ses membres ont exprimé le désir d’effectuer un retour aux sources musicales du ska. Pour ce faire, ils ont bonifié leur section de cuivres, transformé leur son punk-rock pour le rythme syncopé de la musique jamaïcaine et ont complété le tout en incorporant la voix puissante et douce de Lily Thibodeau! Ainsi sont nés Les Skopitones.

La musique des 8 musiciens rassemble une large audience. Jeunes rebelles ou enthousiastes expérimentés, ils viennent dancer et écouter la musique festive. Leur interprétation de plusieurs pièces du répertoire des années 60 est particulièrement appréciée par les amateurs de ce style musical.

Sur scène, menés par une solide section rhytmique et appuyés par une section de cuivres percutante, ils sauront vous faire bouger toute la nuit!
