Une première mouture du groupe outaouais Tracteur Jack fait son apparition en 2004. Dominic Faucher et François Leblanc, tous deux guitaristes, visent alors à gagner le concours Cégeps en spectacle. Ils l'emportent l'année suivante en formule duo. Plusieurs années passent, durant lesquelles les deux membres sont séparés par océans et milliers de kilomètres. Les grandes retrouvailles se font en 2008, après quoi ils décident de recruter Julien Morissette, contrebassiste, et Thierry Faucher, percussionniste, afin d'enrichir ses sonorités.

C'est à partir de cet instant que le groupe prend toute sa puissance: tournée de plus de 60 concerts en 2009, incluant des participations à de nombreux festivals tels que Coup de Coeur Francophone, la bourse RIDEAU, le Festival des Montgolfières de Gatineau, le Salon de la Musique Indépendante de Montréal, le Festival Outaouais Émergent et Musiqu'en Nous. Le groupe acquiert ainsi une maturité sonore qui le pousse à s'isoler durant plusieurs semaines dans un chalet du nord de l'Outaouais, afin d'y enregistrer Western Camembert.

L'album, auto-produit et auto-financé, est lancé de manière virtuelle et disponible gratuitement au printemps 2010, au tracteurjack.com. La formation poursuit cette lancée avec une autre tournée estivale ainsi qu'une participation aux Francofolies de Montréal en 2010. Le Jack continue d'attirer l'attention des médias et d'épater les foules avec son fourgon de pop française calé de rock'n'roll et de jazz manouche.

Tracteur Jack was first seen in concert in 2004, when Dominic Faucher and François Leblanc started jamming to participate at “Cégeps en spectacle”. They would not win until the following year when they offered an original and energetic duo performance. That same year, the band came to a partial hiatus for both members were separated by many kilometers and at times, were oceans apart. The two meet again in 2008 and decided to go forward with the project, recruiting Julien Morissette on upright bass, and Thierry Faucher on drums.

The synergy between the four musicians together propelled the band into a never-before-seen musical birth on the Canadian scene. Indeed, in 2009, Tracteur Jack endeavored an ambitious tour of over 60 concerts, including performances in many festivals, such as Coup de Coeur Francophone, the bourse RIDEAU, the Festival des Montgolfières de Gatineau, the Salon de la Musique Indépendente de Montréal, the Festival Outaouais Émergent, and Musiqu’en Nous. During all that touring, the band acquired a musical maturity that led them to record their very first album, Western Camembert, in a retreated chalet near Wakefield, Quebec.

Staying faithful to their DIY (do it yourself) reputation, their album was self-produced, self-financed and was distributed for free, right on their website. Tracteur Jack plan to keep the ball rolling this year with another summer tour and a noticeable participation at Les Francofolies de Montréal in June 2010. As enthusiastic as ever, Tracteur Jack will keep rocking you socks off in order for them to be in their favorite spot: on stage, where they can make you dance with their mix of French rock and exotic gipsy swing.
