Try telling Ludacris that he’s turning 35 in just over a month. Because dude won’t have any of it. As his latest video for “Jingalin’,” the lead single off his forthcoming album, Ludaversal, demonstrates, the Atlanta MC may be getting older but he’s wilding out as hard as ever. The nonstop party of a video finds Luda at the center of an intense jello wrestling match, warding off some police with offerings of cognac and doing keg stands like it’s his job. Not that it’s commonplace for rappers to settle into old age, but Ludacris, if anything, appears to be upping his party game with each passing year. It’s been no secret that the ATL spitter has developed into quite the ladies’ man over time — the dude who once wanted to “do it on the fity yard line while the Dirty Birds kick for t’ree” is now a suave sex-crazed romantic ready too take you to his “sex room.” But nonetheless it’s always refreshing to witness a video like “Jingalin’” that reminds us why we got down with Luda to begin with: dude can rap at warp speed about thrown’ down.

While Ludacris’s new video is at times a bit cliche — how many times can one witness girl-on-girl wrestling…. well, that’s debatable — it’s successful at appealing to both the young-wild-and-free hip-hop newcomers as well as the faithful who’ve been rocking with Cris’ since Day One.
