“Dexter” made waves with last season’s finale, setting the stage to finally let Dexter’s sister Deb in on his dark secret, and now the show is gearing up for the next premiere. Showtime has released some brand new footage from the upcoming seventh season, but there’s a gimmick involved: the footage is comprised of a ton of shots fast forwarded through about 4 seconds in a new clip. Even the creators of “Eastbound and Down” thought their show was finished, but HBO has surprisingly renewed it for a fourth season. Kenny F*cking Powers (Danny McBride) will continue his descent into debauchery, but in this new season, the object of his affection April (Katy Mixon) will play a much larger role. She was busy with commitments to “Mike and Molly,” but the network is letting “Eastbound” work around Mixon’s schedule for her to be more involved. Don’t expect this to air any time soon, but rejoice in the fact that the baddest mother effer in baseball is coming back for one more inning.

I’m told that the British series “The IT Crowd” was really funny, but I watched fifteen minutes of the first episode and turned it off because I couldn’t stand the laugh track. NBC greenlit an Americanized verison of the show back in 2007 with a pre-”Community” Joel McHale in the role originated by Bridesmaids star Chris O’Dowd, and Richard Ayoade (who stars in the upcoming Ben Stiller comedy The Watch) playing the same role he did in the British series. The NBC brass pulled the plug on the American version at the last second, but now the pilot has hit YouTube and you can see it for yourselves. For now, anyway.
