Some of the world’s hottest music gets its start overseas. It usually isn’t until a few months later that it takes off here in the states. Perusing through various worldwide music charts and social media platforms, I’ve found songs that could be some of the most popular songs in the states in the future. Check them out!

Loreen, “Euphoria”

Reaching the top five, if not number one, on almost every European music chart, “Euphoria” is everything radio stations are dying for in the states. The Swedish entry and overall winning song at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, “Euphoria” is high-energy and so undeniably cool. Loreen sounds like Sweden’s answer to Rihanna, with over the top vocals, that are real and not digitally enhanced, but bold and poignant on dance tracks. It sounds like RiRi’s “Only Girl (In The World)” with just a hint of that Euro club vibe.

Pitbull ft. Shakira, “Get It Started”

Two pioneers of the Latino music community collaborate for this new club thumpin’ track. Pitbull does his usual retread of randomly spouting out city names, having passports, and mention random celebrities, but it’s Shakira who really owns this track. Her powerful vocals are a nice contrast to Pit’s regurgitated rap that is so overdone and tired. The music is pretty good and reminds me of Pit’s “International Love” and “Give Me Everything.”

Adele, “Turning Tables” / “I’ll be Waiting”

Columbia Records isn’t pushing out any more singles from Adele’s unstoppable album “21,” but that’s not stopping radio stations in NYC who want more of her on the airwaves. “Turning Tables” and “http://www.myspace.com/adelelondon/music/songs/i-ll-be-waiting-79782038″ are making slow climbs on the Billboard Triple A Radio Airplay chart with the limited airplay. The former song has already sold over 700,000 downloads and peaked at 63 on the Hot 100 chart last year following a cover that was featured on an episode of “Glee.” The latter has a Lifetime movie soundtrack feel to it that I don’t think could be as successful as “Turning Tables.”

David Guetta ft. Chris Brown and Lil Wayne, “I Can Only Imagine”

Honestly, how could you go wrong with this mash-up? You really can’t. First performed at the Grammys this year, “I Can…” is the latest single from Guetta’s “Nothing But The Beat,” and should be just as successful as the album’s other singles “Without You” ft. Usher, “Turn Me On” ft. Nicki Minaj, and, most recently, “Titanium” ft. Sia. The three performers mix so well on this track that it creates something almost unheard of; house music, combined with hip-hop and some underlying early 70’s pop. Fun, infectious and a sure hit.

Jay Sean ft. Pitbull, “I’m All Yours”

“I’m All Yours” is the latest from Jay Sean, and it’s pretty safe material but it’s a comforting one. Reminiscent to fellow Brit Taio Cruz, and Ne-Yo Jay Sean has a smooth singing voice on this track that matches the lyrics so perfectly. “Everything about you gets me high /Girl I want this for the rest of my life / I’m all yours.” It’s another dance song with love lyrics, but it’s what usually dominates the airwaves.
