While Gerard Butler is mostly known for his macho roles in movies like 300, he has dabbled in the romantic comedy genre before with movies like P.S. I Love You and The Bounty Hunter. Now he’s trading his broadsword for a soccer ball in Playing For Keeps, a rom-com in which he plays a former pro player who now coaches his son’s soccer team. While fending off advances from all the soccer moms nearby, he tries to win back the heart of the former love of his life (Jessica Biel). The movie looks a bit sappy, but it’s got a solid cast so it could turn out just fine. Take a look at the trailer (via Yahoo!) below!

Synopsis: Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Dennis Quaid star in “Playing For Keeps,” a romantic comedy about a charming, down-on-his luck former soccer star (Butler) who returns home to put his life back together. Looking for a way to rebuild his relationship with his son, he gets roped into coaching the boy’s soccer team. But his attempts to finally become an “adult” are met with hilarious challenges from the attractive “soccer moms” who pursue him at every turn. “Playing For Keeps” is directed by Gabriele Muccino, the director of “The Pursuit of Happiness.”
