Arcade Fire performed a secret show over the weekend in Montreal, but not under their own moniker. The Canadian group debuted new material from their upcoming album under the name Les Identiks. But they’re not the first artist to use a temporary fake name for a performance – bands play under false identities all time. Here are a few of our favorites.

Soundgarden has released their first brand new song in 15 years. The track, “Live To Rise,” is the lead track from the soundtrack to The Avengers. The soundtrack, which comes out May 1 and is titled Avengers Assemble, also features numbers from Bush, Rise Against and Papa Roach.

It seems like Kanye West always manages to piss someone off, especially when performing at music festivals (everyone remember his Bonnaroo debacle?). Yesterday West showed up 45 minutes late to his set at Australia’s Big Day Out and managed to anger both fans and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell.

Music videos provoke us, entertain us, shock us, scare us and teach us new things. Sometimes they do all of the above. But let’s not assume that any of these results were necessarily the video’s intended goal. Sometimes a video wants to be artsy, but ends up being downright creepy. Since Halloween is just around the corner, we’re revisiting some of those oddball videos– the ones that are memorable…just not necessarily for the right reasons. Yes, these are the creepers.
