Wolf In a Spacesuit

Wolf In a Spacesuit was born, as many contemporary acts are, in a bedroom. Singer/songwriter Algebra Huxley fed guitars, thrift-store organs and found sounds into a busted MPC and the ingredients formed the basis of the first EP, “Pink Slip”(self-released, 2007). In the following years a second EP was released (Pomegranate Stationary, 2009) and the solo act became a full-fledged band. The band were courted by labels and released music for compilations, remixes and eventually released a limited vinyl for their song “Bark of a Cedar” (Hi Scores Recording Library, 2010). Since then, Wolf In a Spacesuit have written, performed, produced, self-released and self-promoted all of their material. In December of 2011 the band released their first full-length album, “Sea of Doors,” on Bandcamp. Months later, it remains near the top of the Synth-Pop and Indie-Pop charts. Wolf In a Spacesuit are set to release “Wolf In a Spacesuit: The Complete Collection,” which will compile their discography as well as unreleased material on a custom USB memory stick. The collection is set for release on June 1, 2012. The band are currently booking a July United States tour with fellow Chicago native Spooky Cheddar.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1704373533/wolf-in-a-spacesuit-algebra-huxley-tour-and-merch Hi. My name is Algebra Huxley and I have been releasing music through a project called Wolf In a Spacesuit for over five years. It's always been completely self-funded. I write and record the songs in my own home. The videos are made by friends or fans. We've built a loyal and wonderful fan-base over the years and for that I'm eternally grateful. A band is a job that you can spend thousands of dollars and countless hours on before you ever see a return. And I have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours to bring people our music. Usually for free. Wolf In a Spacesuit have received many requests to tour but never had the funds to make it happen. I want to finally make it happen. I also want to be able to sell merchandise at the shows. My goal is to sell customized USB flash drives containing the ENTIRE Wolf In a Spacesuit discography. That's right. Over five years of music on one little memory stick. In high quality. This will include all of our releases, unreleased tracks, demos, live recordings and a new music sample from the upcoming Algebra Huxley EP. I'd also like to create and sell (online and on tour) pins, shirts, posters and more. The money breakdown is as follows: $1,500 towards transportation fees (vehicle, insurance, gas) $500 live equipment rig (instruments, interfaces, stage show) $500 towards the production of custom USB drives containing our discog. Any extra money will go towards lodging and other merchandise The USB stick will contain the following (plus more): -The complete Wolf In a Spacesuit discography, including unreleased demos. Basically everything we've ever done. We're talking hours of music. -Hundreds of photos, official band artwork and fan art -Lyric sheets -Videos A lot of stuff packed into one little drive. Each one signed and numbered for authenticity. If you've been a fan of Wolf In a Spacesuit and Algebra Huxley and wanted to see this become something more, this is your chance to make it happen. You can help build a band from the ground up and you will be remembered and appreciated as long as I exist. Love, Algebra Huxley of Wolf In a Spacesuit

"They're a skewed electronic rock band that hovers along the same wavelength as The Flaming Lips and Of Montreal, but really their sound is pure and unique in itself." - Pasta Primavera

"Think Radiohead 'In Rainbows', think Girls Aloud 'Biology', think The XX (actually forget that, boring), think Air '10,000 Hz Legend'...mix all of that together and that's sort of Wolf In A Spacesuit. They play with structure, sound and melody like a cat playing with a dismembered mouse head." - Robot Pigeon http://www.robotpigeon.com

"Stellar experiments into synthpop, as catchy as pop without sacrificing musical integrity as "Bark of a Cedar" reveals." - Radio Free Chicago http://www.radiofreechicago.com

"Opening the night is eccentric psych-electronic duo Wolf In A Spacesuit. If my telling you the names of the members were Algebra Huxley and Arthur Aircraft elicits a chuckle at their literary references, this is probably the band for you." - Windy City Rock http://www.windycityrock.net
