The Definition:
IMBUE [im-byoo] - To inspire or influence thoroughly.
NO [noh] - Used to express refusal, denial, disbelief or disagreement.
KUDOS [koo-dohz] - a statement of praise or approval; accolade; compliment.

Never has a band made so much impact in the local scene with the kind of mesmerizing, heavy sound it creates, and this generation has Imbue No Kudos to thank for this absolution.
Formed in Olongapo City sometime in 1999, current members, Betong, AJ, Jem, and Earl, met in high school—rooting the compact sound they have stapled to their band’s image early on. Ex-guitarist, Darwin Alcazar, joined the band the same year and left for personal reasons in 2011. Possessing a phenomenal skill of playing the guitar and bass, AJ took over Darwin’s post and elevated the band’s sound into dizzying heights. An avid supporter of the band since their debut album was released; Vinz replenished the band’s roster as the new bassist after auditioning for the role AJ left.
Imbue No Kudos (or ‘INK’) is comprised of musicians who know what they are doing at best, as if their purpose in the scene has already been laid out by their solid vision, magnetic compositions, and fetching live performances. The members’ musicality bundles together to form a heavy, melodic outcome, hauling the listeners’ senses to a new mindfulness of sound. A blanket of tuneful riffs in a dome of satisfying basslines embrace the engaging vocals and dutiful drum play, not to mention the marriage of adrenaline and comfort that is ever-present in each of their songs.
One can describe INK’s music as something that hovers over all other forms of heavy rock: innovatively brisk-yet-blasé, snappy and refined, and most importantly, heartfelt. The title track of their debut album begins in a slew of plucks, continuing with heavy ascents, transitory breakdowns and compassionate vocals—a complex and engaging collection of entrapping melodies that only INK can craft.
The band, who recently fronted world-class act, Taking Back Sunday in their Manila show last April 13 2012, presents a different approach to hardcore that is quite a masterful revelation. Currently, the band is writing songs for their soon-to-be-released independent album, which will follow their debut 2008 Tower of Doom release, “But What If We Will.”
The future of INK looks nothing short of exciting, with songs gearing on more aggressive riffs, guitar-centric rhythms, satisfying screams and vocal combos. With a fan base stretching from the northern to the southern parts of the metro, there will be no stopping the harmonious post-hardcore brilliance that INK will continue to create.
