Open letter to Party Leaders re: groundwater contamination

Mr. Harper, Mr. Dion, Mr. Layton, Mrs. May, and candidates in the Grand River Watershed,

To inform the electorate in our watershed, Debbie Vitez and Waterlooians. ca have made an educational video asking what you and your party will do to assist neighbourhoods adversely affected by industrial contamination (i.e. Trichloroethylene)?

Debbie's family has been adversely affected by industrial polluters like Northstar Aerospace in Preston, Cambridge, Ontario. Her family is not alone.

It is the continued responsibility of policy makers and government institutions to protect our vital groundwater resources for future generations. Environment Canada's A Federal Perspective on Water Quantity Issues states 'We can no longer take our extensive water supplies for granted.'

Waterlooians. ca is circulating the following educational commercial and written material in Waterloo Region to stimulate action on this important issue.

Chemical Water Contamination – Federal Election 2008

http://www. youtube. com/watch?v=VdMhW3X_uzU

We hope you enjoy our educational video and look forward to your response. For more information on Waterlooians. ca please visit our website: www. waterlooians. ca.

Respectfully yours,

Waterlooians. ca

Dear Dr. Suzuki,

I hope you are well.

It was great to meet you over the summer at the Toronto Brick Works. Thank you for listening to my comments and signing the book I gave as a gift to Greg Allen.

I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I was taken aback by the last subject title of your latest Nature Challenge Newsletter. The subject title reads as thus;

"I hate elections!"

I believe Gail, your editor, may need to rethink her position about propogating your foundations message and image.

Hate is such a strong word to be used representing you and your causes.

I am dissapointed :(

May you and your team find more gentle ways of informing us about what your foundations intentions are.

Thank you, and, best regards,

Paul ‏

Dear David,

What would cause more environmental damage.....the burning of styrofoam cups or a Stephen Harper majority government?

Gabe Carini doesn't believe in styrofoam or Stephen Harper.
