FEATURED PROJECT: Homes for the Helpless
FUNDRAISING GOAL: $18,000

Women and children in the Mexico 70 Slum of San Vicente are living in desperate circumstances as a result of their country’s economic policies, and a lack of government infrastructure. Donations to this project will help build a four-plex shelter for marginalized women and their children in Sao Vicente. The new housing structure will be a simple block construction, taking three months to build. Construction is scheduled to begin in July 2008.

Bearing down on grizzlies
British Columbia is unique in that grizzlies still inhabit much of the province, even though they have been eliminated from almost all of their historical territory across the planet. That means we have a global responsibility to protect this iconic carnivore.

5 May 2008 07:38

Hello Impact Canada,

I hope you are well.

I had a most unique experience that is very earthy in nature and proved to be a substantive approach of learning more about the availability of locally grown produce that garners the consumer many benefits toward health and the environment.

Please listen to the interview I conducted with, Dagmar Baur of the Toronto Community Garden Network.

Below please find the link to listen/download this very informative interview with Dagmar Baur conducted on May 3 2008 by Paul Richmond at The Brickworks in the Don Valley of Toronto on the topic of; Weeds, If You Can't Beat Them, Eat Them!

Lake Ontario Waterkeeper

22 Apr 2008 10:22

Hello Impact Canada!

Thanks for the Earth Day wishes! They're returned with passion from everyone at Lake Ontario Waterkeeper. We're celebrating the day with all efforts toward winning back the right to safely swim, drink, and fish in every waterway. We just posted our most recent Living At the Barricades Podcast - "An inside look at the Lafarge tire-burning case." This week's podcast takes the listener inside Waterkeeper's groundbreaking appeal of a massive tire-burning proposal at a cement kiln in Bath, ON that threatens air and water across the Lake. Archived episodes of Living At the Barricades are at www.waterkeeper.ca/radio or on iTunes.

As Earth Day signals a time to get out to celebrate the water, Waterkeeper is in the process of readying our boat - The Angus Bruce. We'll be out on the boat doing beachfront monitoring for pollution and meeting with grassroots environmental and social justice activists engaged in the fight for clean water.

22 Apr 2008 10:40

Dear Impact Canada,

Thank you very much on behalf of, Greg Allen, Paul Richmond, and the KEEP THE GREEN ALIVE !!!! Community for featuring us as one of your top friends during this week !!!!

It is because of this type of exposure of, The Greg Allen Interview, KEEP THE GREEN ALIVE !!!! interviews since, October 1 2005, that over 750,000 people worldwide have been exposed to our messages and offerings of practical ways to lessen humanities footprint on our greatest gift to humanity, planet Earth.

We appreciate all the feedback we have received from other concerned citizens of our planet that have included, but not limited to, Dr. David Suzuki, Woody Harrelson, Ed Begley Jr., Leonardo Dicaprio, Maria Daines, Mary-Alice Pollard, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation CBC, and a host of others that are trying to do their best in embracing the changes that are required in this difficult time of transformation for us all.

We have also received many letters from people around the world that have actually put into place some of the offerings of information about the practical things we can all do in our own living spaces as proferred by Greg Allen in our interviews.

It is our hope that indeed, we can help to heal the planet so as to provide stability to our environment for future generations and time eternal.

Please accept our sincere and deep gratitude for accepting us a friends and for providing more exposure to people looking for information about sustainable lifestyles that are more kind to our environment.

Best regards, and, Peace,

Paul Richmond, Greg Allen, and the team of;
KEEP THE GREEN ALIVE !!!!

I think that to change the world it will take a long process.

I also think that we need to start educating children about the issues. Putting into schools will make it more of an issue and it will get children involved. They will grow up learning how to help.

Im a teacher and I incorporate it in my teachings every day.
I am in a competition to show off my teaching skills for next year and my theme is earth day.

I think we need to educate and participate.
